On this page you will find the items that you are required to bring with you on your fishing trip, as well as the items that are provided for your use.

What to bring

  • YOU MUST HAVE PA FISHING LICENSE AND WADERS

  • PA fishing license with Erie and Trout Combination Stamp, please use this link to get license online and print out at home:

  • Hip boots at minimum, chest waders recommended. Felt soles or felt soles with metal studs are ideal and superior to rubber soles for gripping the slippery stream bottom. Breathable chest waders are suggested as they provide you more comfort for walking the streams and keep you dryer than other materials, while allowing you to wear as little or as much clothing underneath according to temperatures.

  • Warm clothes, wool socks, stocking caps, gloves (fingerless are great). Synthetic materials are highly recommended as base layers to wick away moisture from your body, which keeps you dry and warm on those late fall and winter fishing days.

  • Food and drinks. It's a good idea to bring snacks and drinks on the stream so you can enjoy the view and take it all in when taking a break from fishing. This will also give you more time on the water and save you a walk back to the vehicle to eat, unless of course you wish to relax a little more and warm up.

  • You may want to bring a backpack or fishing vest to carry personal items like cameras, cell phones, food and drinks, extra gloves, hats, etc. Your hands will then be free when walking.

  • Stringer and cooler if you plan on keeping fish.

  • Bring your camera even though I will be taking pictures for you. I don't want a problem with my camera to ruin a trip because you have no pictures to show family and friends at home! I have a high quality digital camera and will email pictures to you after our trip. With your permission I will post them on my website as well.

  • Polarized Sunglasses. Most of the time you can see the fish and with polarized glasses you can see what I am seeing. Even a cheap pair from one of the mart stores. If they have a fishing section they will have polarized sunglasses. Amber lenses are suggested.

  • Rain Gear. Even a raincoat to block the wind can mean being comfortable as opposed to being cold. In colder temperatures I will certainly accommodate requests to warm up back at the truck.

What is provided

  • All fishing equipment, lures, baits, tackle, and landing net

  • Free digital pictures (by email only)

  • Along with complete instruction I will be as hands on or off as you would like. Tying on a lure/bait, untying knots while you use my setup, baiting hooks, netting fish, handling fish, etc are all things I will do unless you state otherwise. I will have an extra setup with me to ensure you keep fishing while I am retying or rerigging another technique or presentation.  You will see me fish for instructional purposes and maybe take a few casts later in the day but I am there to guide YOU and have YOU learn as much as possible!
